2017 ended in a flurry of business that saw us deliver amazing service to our clients, finish all our Christmas shopping on time, wrap our heads around the oh so cryptic world of cryptocurrency (we’ve got it waxed!) and roll our eyes at local politics. In all this, we also managed to push out some compelling blogs. Have to say, they really do demonstrate our chops as an inbound marketing agency with some expert skills.
As we fling ourselves into the new year with renewed energy and enthusiasm, the team would like to take a moment to reflect on some of these top blogs from Q4 2017.
October
“When witches go riding, and black cats are seen, the moon laughs and whispers ‘tis near Halloween.” – anonymous
In the spirit of spookiness, we teamed up with Absolute Radio to create a horrifically brilliant zombie movie called Morning Gory. It wasn’t just for kicks; it gave Philippa – a mum of two with multiple sclerosis – a starring role in a horror film that involved much brain-bashing. Which for her, was a dream come true!
October was also the month we figured out how to make a personalised video. These days, marketing success really boils down to making your customers and leads feel super important. And if you can personalise an email and a blog, then why not video too?
Video production aside, we were very busy with ways to promote your business to SMEs – an increasingly lucrative sector. We then went on to discuss how to develop compelling ebook ideas, even when all creative inspiration has left the building. And followed up with how to write an ebook that actually gets read.
November
November kicked off with some stellar SEO advice that outlined the importance of linkbuilding services that do not rely on automated mass email sends. You really should NOT rely on automated mass email sends. Shame on you.
We then went on to answer a hot question currently keeping many a marketer up at night: what is a buyer persona? Personas matter people, so be sure read up on how to use them to deliver more effective personalised content and communications.
We ended the month with an ambitious yet highly topical blog that showcased our burgeoning, and not too shabby, cryptocurrency knowledge. We’ve come a long way since then chaps, watch this space.
December
The last month of the year was super exciting. The TopLine Cape Town team visited the London office! Yes, the Capetonians willingly gave up some summer for snow and everyone had a great time getting to know each other better – and in person.
But it wasn’t all play. We revisited the very important topic of buyer personas and how you can build your very own buyer persona template. This is golden stuff chaps – four very practical methods that will help you reach the right people.
Last but not least! We are an inbound marketing agency obsessed with technology. So, we couldn’t let the year close without listing the most important tech dates for your Q1 2018 diary.
And now, looking ahead to 2018! We’ve got an exciting 12 months ahead and we’d love you to be a part of it. If you need our skills, give the team a shout, and let’s get cracking.
