The agency is up for two awards at the industry’s flagship awards programme, the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) DARE Awards, where it is nominated for Large Agency of the Year and the Charity/Not-for-Profit Award for its high impact campaign for the Tall Ships Youth Trust.

Definition has also been shortlisted for Large Agency of the Year at the Prolific North Awards.

Formed by Acceleris’ acquisition of Limelight PR in 2018, the agency rebranded as Definition in January and now comprises 30 staff across offices in Leeds, London and the Dubai. Since then, the enlarged agency has already clocked up six major award nominations including three ‘agency of the year’ categories.

The agency’s highly experienced team includes former national and international print and broadcast journalists, as well as social media, employee and community engagement, video, content and crisis communications professionals working across a wide variety of sectors, including Energy, Maritime & Transport, Tech, Business & Professional Services and Health & Wellness.

The PRCA and Prolific North Awards celebrate and reward the best PR, communications and creative talent. Definition received its shortlists in recognition of its success in winning 24 new clients in 2018, including major international corporates PETRONAS, EY and Boston Consulting Group, and growing its turnover by more than double as a result of the acquisition. The agency also launched a new name and brand while bolstering its team with the appointment of former Golin director Sandra Hobson to spearhead growth in its London office.

Louise Vaughan, Managing Director at Definition, said: “The team work extremely hard to constantly deliver outstanding work for our clients so we’re all enormously proud that we’ve been recognised by some of the most influential organisations and figureheads in our industry.

“After effectively doubling in size in 2018, a lot of work has gone in to unifying three extremely talented teams under one brand and it’s a huge achievement to already be recognised for two Large Agency of the Year awards. I’d like to praise the efforts of the team who have worked tirelessly to make our agency such a success and we hope to add to our tally of more than 60 regional, national and international awards that we’ve won over the last decade.”

Definition’s strong start to year was affirmed with three PRmoment Awards shortlists in February. The latest nominations will be contested at awards ceremonies in Manchester on 23 May and 10 July for the Prolific North and PRCA Dare Awards respectively.
