Definition Group, the multi-award winning, reputation management, creative design and internal communications agency, has netted more than £700k in revenue this year following a flurry of recent business wins.

The run of successful new partnerships come after Definition acquired highly regarded, London-based brand strategy and creative design agency Redhouse and Yorkshire-based leading employee engagement agency Words & Pictures toward the end of 2020. The transactions enhance the Group’s ability to drive brand creation, recognition, engagement and growth for clients, through seamlessly integrated internal and external communications.

Definition has brought seven new clients into the business since the turn of the year. Joining the consultancy’s well-established professional services portfolio are global brand experience agency, FIRST, which designs and produces hybrid, digital, and live experiences; and global Recruitment Process Outsourcing provider Cielo. The team’s brief is to raise Cielo’s profile across EMEA and APAC, working with affiliate agencies on the ground to position Cielo as a major global player in the talent acquisition sector across key industries.

Other new clients include national recycling charity WRAP, where work will include promoting its Love Your Clothes initiative to help change the way UK consumers buy, use and dispose of their clothing; leading manufacturer of starches, sweeteners, proteins and alcohol Sedamyl, with work to communicate an £80m investment in its Selby plant; and Loop, where the team will launch the cashmere brand and raise its profile across fashion/lifestyle/regional/national media as well as corporate profiling.

Meanwhile, W&P secured two new clients in January including major household name Halfords, the UK’s leading retailer in motoring, cycling, leisure product and services. The brief includes providing strategic internal communication support, digital solutions and integrated campaigns. W&P also delivered its innovative virtual conferencing platform Eventiv for a client expo event. Eventiv provided a cutting-edge, hands-on virtual experience for more than 1,400 attendees across three days with around 1,000 unique user delegates. The event was well-received with standout testimonials describing the experience as ‘mind blowing’, ‘innovative’ and ‘as close to a real event as you can get’.

Meanwhile, design agency Redhouse has brought four new contracts onboard across its public and private sector portfolio covering both long-term brand and design contracts, as well as tactical brand engagement projects.

The roaring start to 2021 is testament to the new multi-million turnover Group’s strengthened position and offering following its recent acquisitions. With a combined 40 years of experience working for global brands across reputation management and employee engagement, it now ranks in the Top 5 specialist B2B PR & communications agencies in the UK* and boasts a combined tally of over 400 UK and international awards covering a wide range of work in corporate communications. The Group was recently selected by PR Week as One of 12 to Watch in 2021 and listed as one of the top 15 Rising Stars in The B2B Marketing’s UK Agencies Benchmarking Report 2021.

The enlarged team includes communication & employee engagement specialists, reputation and crisis management experts, former national print & broadcast journalists, design creatives, editorial and content producers and digital marketing teams. The Group’s portfolio of clients spans business and professional services, motoring and transport, health and wellness, plus Government, education and tech. It includes Direct Line Group, Honda, Southeastern Trains, Phoenix Group, Astrid & Miyu, Benenden Health, Nautilus International, Nexus, Winston & Strawn, the University of Leicester and numerous Government departments.

Louise Vaughan, Managing Director of Definition, said: “After what was a difficult year for many industries, it is incredibly uplifting to see some markets starting to bounce back. We view our significantly strengthened portfolio for 2021 as very welcome evidence of returning confidence as well as a just reward for our team’s hard work and dedicated client service in challenging circumstances.

“Our various agencies are working well together, enabling us to launch our innovative InsideOut CommunicationsTM offering that facilitates consistent brand messaging to internal and external audiences. We are hopeful for continued and increased market buoyancy as the world starts to pick up the pieces from the pandemic’s fallout.”

The agency is three times winner of the ‘Agency of the Year’ title in the UK Public Sector Communications Awards and has also won ‘Best Issues & Reputation Management Campaign’ at the European Communications Excellence Awards three times in Munich, Berlin and Stockholm. It is currently short listed for ‘Agency of the Year’ in the PR Moment Awards.
