Exact Case Study Infographic image. Text on image: Block one – Introduction - Exact provides workflow, timesheet and accounting software for SMEs and their accountants. When launching its cloud software in the UK, it needed help building its profile. The company was starting from a strong foundation, with decades of experience working alongside entrepreneurs to help improve business efficiency and save costs. But Exact recognised that having a well-established, positive reputation in one country didn’t automatically entitle it to the same in new markets. Block two – Objectives - Exact needed to: 1) Build its profile in the UK. 2) Understand its target audiences in the UK and use the right channels to reach them. Block three – Strategy - Our strategy: 1) Conduct research into the monetary cost of inefficient internal processes at SMEs to generate mainstream media and trade press coverage - building Exact’s profile and placing it in front of its key target audience. 2) Develop Exact’s social media profiles, generating both followers and engagement, in order to start a conversation around Exact and raise brand awareness in the UK. Block four – Results - We generated coverage in mainstream media publications such as The Daily Telegraph and The Independent, building Exact’s profile in the UK as a leading international provider of cloud business software, alongside further coverage in The Wall Street Journal and Reuters. We also secured coverage in key trade press publications such as International Accountant, Accountancy Age and Business Matters, placing Exact directly in front of British accountancy firms. As a result of this coverage and an ongoing social strategy, Exact’s social media profile gained 1,000 followers, generating strong levels of engagement with key audiences and influencers. Accountants and SMEs began to sit up and take notice.
